I had this strong impression from the Lord that if we indeed invite the Holy Spirit into our midst that He will come according to how much we let Him in. It’s like inviting a guest to stay in our home. How much do we welcome our guest? Do we offer them the couch to sleep on? Do we put them in a closet with a sleeping bag? Do we put them in a tent outside? As hosts we can chose where to put our guest and how to treat them and so it is with the Holy Spirit. How much room are we willing to make for Him? Are we willing to give Him the best bedroom, the best chair in the living room, the best seat at the dining table, the finest food from our stores? Are we willing to let Him come and be a new roommate?

I could see that if we invited Him that He has piles and piles of suitcases and trunks to take up residence if we pretty much said that our home is His home. Mi casa es su casa. If we say yes, He will pour in like a huge flood and our lives will not be the same.

“If you allow Me the best place in your lives then I will bring a party that no one can stop and sweep you up into a new lifestyle – in with the new, out with old. Am I going to be an honored guest in your home? Will you ask Me to partake at your table? Will you let me change the furniture and the paint? Will you let Me give you a new look? Will you let Me change it up? If so, then let Me have preeminence and I will pull out all the stops and I will roll in like a whirlwind of changes and a fresh new breath of air to fill your lungs with laughter and joy and a new song.”

Acts 2:1-4 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.
