Seeing the future through the Lords eyes is seeing the future through a heart of peace and joy. Sometimes the future appears negative because we are seeing it through the lens of our fears, our brokeness, our doubts.

When you look into the future through eyes of fear you are in effect entering into an illusory, ersatz faith that conjours up disappointments, hopelessness and suffering. There are dark spirits that can join with and inflame these visions and it serves to disconnect us from our present relationship with Him so that we are of opposite minds. Our relationship can be disrupted by design or by our unwitting volition and cooperation.

None of us knows the whole future except Him. None of us can predict it except Him. What we can know is what is in front of us and we can give thanks for what we presently have with Him. There is plenty to give thanks for today and the more we do that, the more connected we are with Him who is ever present. This gives us confidence for tomorrow.

A description of His lens can be found in Phil 4:4-9.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
