I felt like the Lord showed me that walking in the light in full disclosure with Him was like putting on the full armor of God as it says in Ephesians 6:11-17. I have always wondered what putting on the armor of God looked like. It sounded like a great idea, but practically, in Earth terms, it seemed like nothing more than an inspiring, beautiful metaphor to don these: Helmet of Salvation, Shield of Faith, Belt of Truth, Sword of the Spirit, Breastplate of Righteousness, Gospel of Peace Shoes. I understood there is a spiritual reality of evil and wickedness that assails us, but how to withstand or neutralize that left me with begging God to send His angels for protection for me and others, praying in tongues, worshipping, getting prayed for or reading the Word. Now it seems clearer that transparency with Him results in Him providing His point of view which is absolute Truth and this defeats the lies of the enemy. The Truth changes everything of how we think, feel and act. So much of the battle is the battle for the mind.

As we disclose everything to Him whether it appears rational or not, He lovingly and patiently offers His wise perspectives which I like to call Divine Objectivity. He’s inviting us into discourse with Him. His open heart of care encourages us to be teachable, to be disciples, to be open to change, to relent of many things such as bitterness, unforgiveness, hate, misunderstanding, disappointments, hurts, sorrows and various negative behaviors. In the midst of the safe environment of His great wisdom we take hold of the truth for ourselves against which the flaming darts or accusations and the lies of the enemy are extinguished. This begets a mature lifestyle embracing the love described in I Cor 13. We then put away how we were raised, what we learned through life, how we were negatively influenced and damaged and in essence we put away childish things. All this from a simple act of coming to our Father with all our issues and cares without fear of punishment. This is a great golden key He has bestowed upon us.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Pet 5:6

“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.” Isa 42:3

When we open up to the Lord without fear, it causes a spiritual light to turn on inside our heads and hearts so that we see with true sight. I could see in a vision literal light shining out of our eyes. It enables us to see into the hearts of others with understanding and compassion. It enables us to be a practical help for those around us. It enables us to be the Good Shepherd to the world who brings reconciliation and not judgments. In I John 2:9 it says, “The one who says that he is in the Light and yet hates his brother or sister is in the darkness until now.” This a transparency issue with the Lord and the more we let Him in to everything the more people we can embrace. We are all on this learning curve of the heart. If you open up to Him, He brings His true understanding and unravels all the misperceptions and lies in our hearts about ourselves and others. This injection of love light from Him releases a heart that loves and sees like Him. Walking in the light, confessing and admitting all to Him is an equipping, an armoring. His love for us is the Armor. What could possibly withstand that?

Honesty and openness with Him is about fully taking up and walking in our salvation. There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of in bringing everything in full openness to Him. Treasures of insight, healing and equipping await us as we open more and more to Him. May the eyes of your heart be opened.
